Jenn started out at Ogilvy and Mather where she learned the ropes of advertising. She got a taste of everything from public relations to direct response with a dash of systems development for good measure. She moved on to a short stint at a cash management company where she learned quickly that sprawling hallways and men you addressed as Sir Withersbee were not for her. Jenn loves the blood and guts of accounting. She wants to know the person signing the checks.

During the corporate years, Jenn went to school to fluff up her accounting education and became certified in tax work. She was also helping friends with their start up advertising companies and discovered she had a desire to help the little guy with their real world challenges. The corporate world soon became too constraining and stodgy and Jenn jumped ship to create Team Jenn.

While Jenn was jumping ship, she was also jumping out of airplanes. To this date she has made nearly 1,000 jumps. She carries the proud distinction of being a 4-Way Skydiving National Champion, which she won with three other adrenaline junkies in 1992. The nerves of steel come in handy during tax season.

Jenn also climbed Aconcagua in Argentina, one of the great seven summits, for her 40th birthday. She did it without oxygen to 23,000. These days she climbs year round, keeping alive the passion she’s had since her juvenile delinquency in Colorado.

Jenn is also no stranger to fear or endurance. A couple of years ago she became a tri-athlete and was working out up to six hours a day. It’s mandatory to be self-employed when you’re sweating that much. Her clients became accustomed to meetings post-workout and pre-shower. She made it to the National Championships twice, and even though she didn’t come home on the back of a fire engine she loved every minute of it.

In 2005 Lance Armstrong announced the he would race his last Tour de France. Jenn knew that if she didn’t go see it, she would regret it for the rest of her life. She bought a Harley Davidson Sportster (she didn’t know how to ride) and shipped it to France to follow the tour all over Europe. Amazingly enough, she lived to tell about her adventures and got Lance’s autograph.

Mike is a native New Yorker, who, well prepared with a marketing degree, started his career working in accounting for several ad & media buying agencies. Shortly after completing his MBA, he was bludgeoned in the head one morning by a subway train door. When he came to, he realized he needed to get out of NYC before it killed him. Mike decided to escape the cold, urine infested NYC streets for the sunny beaches of Southern California.

In Los Angeles he held several more financial management positions for ad & media buying businesses. He then fled for the colder, yet greener, Bay Area where he continued to work for ad agencies in both San Francisco & San Jose before joining Team Jenn Corp. Mike is uniquely qualified for Team Jenn. In one of his earliest jobs he was the first male bank teller for a small Maryland credit union where he worked in a 20x40 foot office with six hostile Southern women. Later, he worked in an all-gal US Congressman's office with teeth gnashing politicos. Those jobs have given him the credentials for a senior position at Team Estro-Jenn.

When not working overtime, Mike enjoys all sorts of outdoor sports, including skiing, biking, running and hiking. He also tries to travel whenever possible, in and around California, the U.S. and internationally.

Prior to coercing Mike into supplying this info for our website, TJC knew little biographical information about him. We'd heard that he had a lot of financial experience in the ad industry and, without knowing much more, we impulsively hired him as our Work Husband. So far, so good.

Lisa is Team Jenn Corp’s link to the great state of Colorado (go Broncos!). She lives and works in the Denver area. She started working for Team Jenn Corp back in 1995. We enjoy cramming up her inbox and keeping the phone lines hot between the LA nerve center and Denver HQ. Nobody said telecommuting was easy.

Lisa and Jenn have a long history together. Their grandparents were friends. Their parents are friends, and now Lisa and Jenn carry on the tradition. When they were wee, they were routinely kicked out of ballet lessons together for giggling. During the college years, they road tripped across the states a few times. They are more than friends, they're family. These days they work together daily, and play hard as often as possible. Sadly, work schedules and age limitations now permit only one trip a year to Vegas. When Lisa shows up at TJC events in LA, we all know to wear our helmets!

Lisa gets no mercy - that's the drawback of being family. You have to prove you got the job because you're smart, not because you're related.

If it’s about payroll, Lisa’s our gal. If it’s about benefits, retirement plans, Lisa’s our go-to. She totally supervises every aspect of payroll and benefits administration for all our clients. In between, she also manages a few clients from bottom to top. Saying she’s “organized” is putting it mildly.

Gabrielle and Jenn met on Gab's 30th birthday. Without giving too much away, that was in 1993.

Gabi brings to Team Jenn Corp a colorful bag of experience and an even more colorful personality. Like Jenn, she also started her career at a big ad agency, Chiat Day, where she learned to handle print production. She then moved on to be a music producer at several commercial music production companies.

She's taken time off here and there to try other things and to get married to a real-life rock star (not kidding). After all that, she's landed at Team Jenn where she fits in perfectly.

In her years with us, Gab has become a powerhouse worker. She handles a multitude of clients. We confront her with something new and challenging everyday. She tackles it fearlessly.

Monique Gonzales hails from Gonzales, CA. Weird, we know. We think she was the Queen of Gonzales and we love having someone here for whom an entire city (ok, town) might be named.

She has a BA in Art History from UC Berkeley. While in school she used to book rock bands for the campus (including an unknown Green Day at the time). She worked in the music business for five years which included a brief stint as a concert promoter in Hawaii. She then moved into production accounting in Film and Television working for the likes of Sony and MTV.

Then she decided to get serious and pursue her MBA degree...in France in 2006. Basically, it was an excuse to eat cheese, drink wine and travel around Europe. P.S. She speaks fluent French. We don't hold it against her.

Mo' likes to do yoga, hike, run and bake. But she only does the baking after she’s done the running. Plus, she's famous for her homemade margaritas.

Monique has great communication skills and really knows how to use effective elucidation. In her phone interview she completely won Jenn over upon mentioning that she too loved Collective Soul and once partied with them back stage at an Earth Day concert in 1999.

Her claim to TJC fame is that she got hired sight-unseen. The first time she and Jenn met face to face was on her first day at work!

Jenn Meduri, aka Jenn2, or just “NUMBER TWO” James Bond fashion, had been on the Team Jenn Corp radar for a few years before landing a gig with Mike Plisek in the San Jose office. Jenn actually took over for Mike as the Business Manager at DMNA when Mike joined TJC full time. Mike was still the virtual CFO and they continued to work together for that agency. She did a great job there: good enough to have Mike hire her a second time for a position at Team Jenn Corp.

Number Two is an avid reader. She likes reading so much that she'd rather have a candlelight dinner alone with a good book than a mediocre date, and enjoys camping in the great outdoors with dirty feet. The dirty feet part is why Jenn hired her. Seriously. She's got a lot of hobbies, including live music and traveling.

Her son, Jackson, recently won an award for being the best kid on the planet. Jenn was there to hand out the plaque in a private ceremony for family-only. They live near the beach and actually enjoy spending time with their entire family. Jenn is here to do accounting; it's what she does best. She takes anything that comes down the pike. She brings a lot to the company, including a daily non-fat cappuccino, a good attitude and some chap stick just in case.

Diana Suh is a Jersey girl by birth, Bostonian by brain, Chicagoan by heart and now a Cali girl by soul. After growing up in Chicago, she went to Boston College to get a BS degree at the Carroll School of Management and followed it up with a MSA. Topping it off with a couple years working at a Big Four, she can officially call herself an accounting nerd. If there is ever a VH1 reality show about "people you'd never expect to be an accountant", please contact her with application details.

Diana moved out here to be with her dog, Bruce Lee, who apparently loves the beach. She must have raised him with too much crystal therapy influence because the dog has absolutely no ninja skills despite his name. Yes she does crystal therapy. Like she said, Californian by soul. She enjoys all things organic and spiritually-positive. Her initial reason for being a corporate dropout was to travel, do a lot of pilates, and practice rawism. She no longer practices rawism but may schedule a comeback tour as she is now in the land of raw foodies.

She knew she wanted to work at Team Jenn from the moment she noticed the plastic pile of dog poop paperweight she saw on Jenn's desk during her interview. Any person who finds poop to be an appropriate office accessory is a person she wants to work for.

Sharon Town Lee is one of the first characters in the Team Jenn story. She was the very first employee at Team Jenn Corp back in 1994. She came up with an elaborate financial proposal and presented it to Jenn on how she could afford to pay her $20,000 per year if Team Jenn made other cuts. It was a huge leap, but it worked. Upon hiring Sharon, Jenn had to get her a place to work. That place was a three foot extension to the one desk that they shared. They also did "conference calls" by smashing their heads together over one receiver.

In those days, an all team lunch (Sharon + Jenn) was a sandwich at the beach so Sharon could catch some waves. She’s an all-time body whomper.

Over the years Sharon has constantly pushed TJC to new levels in that same way. She was a major organizational force every time a new client came on board. She was our first maternity leave too! And after having two kids, she's back with us part time handling work that is complicated and requires diligent care.

Jayne fit right in from the beginning at TJC! She's the type who gets totally bummed out at sweaty Bikram yoga when someone wears an all white leotard and is such a vegan that she won't wear Ugh boots, leather or any animal product including bunny. Beyond being a vegan she is an animal welfare advocate and belongs to PETA, PCRM and she participated in the ASPCA and HSUS Lobby Day in Sacramento last year.

Twins run in her family - she has a twin sister and a set of twin brothers who are 2 1/2 years younger. Jayne got her BS in Business Accounting at the University of Phoenix and has 10 years of accounting experience altogether. She worked at several radio stations in various non-accounting capacities prior to starting her accounting career. Jayne has been a runner since high school and loves a good sweat in a Bikram yoga class. She was raised in Gilroy, CA - the Garlic Capital of the World.

One thing to know about Jayne is that she will do anything, we mean, ANYTHING, to get back her lost luggage and she doesn't let her dog leave the house looking homeless. Oh and she is a huge, huge fan of Nancy Grace and Jane Valez-Mitchell. Seriously, huge.

Alicia has been an Enrolled Agent since 2007. Just in case you don’t know what that means, it means the IRS will let her speak to them about you. She has a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration, with emphasis in Accountancy from Long Beach State. Alicia obtained her degree while working full time as an accountant and drinking countless RedBulls.

During her free time, she enjoys playing in chess tournaments (really! she’s a ranked player) with her husband, eating weird foods, and telling corny jokes, but not all at the same time.

She brings weird food into the office for all of us to stare at and sniff and then go "ew!". We are really excited about her ability to read and understand Chinese, which we can use around the office these days – but it’s also great for watching Kung-Fu flicks.

Team Jenn Corp now has one more man, and another out-of-stater around the office. Brandon Bromstad, our latest inductee, is a mid-western corn-fed boy. He recently graduated with a Master's degree in accounting and promptly moved to beautiful sunny southern California.

Brandon enjoys hiking, snowboarding, and almost any other activity that takes place under the big blue sky. He loves to SCUBA and like many other TeamJenners loves to travel and explore the globe.

This year he has goals to learn to surf and explore more of his newfound SoCal home. Now that Jenn knows he's a certified SCUBA diver, look out for the next Team Jenn Corp official outing. Get your snorkels ready!

Steve Ponstein comes to Team Jenn out of the beautiful Midwest and he’s darn proud of it! His growing up in Grand Haven, Michigan, close to the water and the snow, led to a classic midwest childhood that was full of skiing, mountain biking and, duh, accounting! He graduated from Hope College with plans to be an attorney and then promptly decided that he would just skip law school and go straight to ski bum. That worked for awhile, until he landed a job as a night auditor in Vail and found himself waking up a little too late to get first tracks in fresh pow'. Within a few short weeks of joining TJC, he hit Mammoth with us and those mis-spent years paid off! He's a superstar on the slopes. We don't even care if he's a good accountant any more - he's one of us.

He moved on to San Diego and lived there for several years working in bookkeeping and outsourced accounting firms. On the west coast he discovered surfing and continued to mountain bike, which keeps him sane for now. You'll find him surfing the Venice break many mornings (and surprisingly, he's never late for work).

At Team Jenn he is a Staff Accountant and also holds the title of newest dad in the office. Steve and his wife Katie just welcomed little Jacob to the block.

Ruthie is a true Colorado native and and grew up in Denver. She graduated from the University of Colorado (Go Buffs!) with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She was a Retail Property Manager with Inverness Properties and have worked as an educational assistant with Douglas County School District for the past 12 years.

Ruthie and the family love to swim. She grew up swimming and competed nationally. She began coaching swim thirteen years ago and has so far coached three of her teams to runner-up status at state and even won a state championship in 2009. Woot! How cute! She even met her her husband during lap swim at a local pool. Her children, Kirsten and Kyle, are both accomplished swimmers, and currently both attend and compete for the University of Denver.

Besides being very active in the swim community, Ruthie loves to hike and enjoy the Colorado outdoors.

Ruthie's Team Jenn story is simple. She met Lisa Hagen when their kids started swimming together on the neighborhood swim team. They quickly became good friends. For the past several years she has been hounding Lisa to let her help with her crazy workload. Lisa finally relented and now Ruthie is part of Team Jenn!

Nothing happens at TJC or with a client that Laurence doesn't know about. In fact, nothing happens in Venice that he doesn't know about. He's the guy most likely to answer the phone or show up at your office with checks because he just likes to be social. He brings knowledge about production accounting and entertainment finance from being side by side with the big dogs in Hollywood, where he slaved away for six years before coming to our side. Laurence finally got tired of working with all the suits and now loves being involved with real people and real clients. He is an organized, efficient worker and the type of guy that makes his bed every morning.

Laurence is a west side Venice original and now resides within walking distance from the office. He can be seen in the morning, Starbucks in hand, strolling or skateboarding to the office. He has been a beach bum all his life and loves all ocean related activities including fishing, boating, surfing, skating and jet skiing.

Tracey is originally from England, but came to Florida as a nanny for a wealthy family. Unfortunately that family had the idea she was an indentured servant. They paid her so poorly that she could never leave the house. That did not settle too well with Tracey so she ran away and bought a $99 Greyhound ticket good for anywhere in the US. Tracey ended up on the opposite coast of America and spent three days at a homeless shelter in Santa Barbara. All of the gruesome details are available for the price of one drink.

Life got better after that (if you exclude the time spent avoiding cops called to chase her down). Tracey found herself traveling the US on the Indy race car circuit, and driver Roberto Guerro of team Alfa Romeo. If pressed, you can be sure that she has quite a few juicy stories about certain drivers she knows from that time.

Now Tracey is our resident one-woman IT department who can close an error pop-up message with the twitch of her nose. Her OCD drives her to perfection and costs a small fortune in anti-bacterial wipes, but it's worth it for the impeccable work habits she brings to Team Jenn Corp.

Tracey and Jenn met while sprinting the straightaways at a local track club where both had dreams of marathons and tubs of Icy Hot. She demanded an interview during the cool down lap, but TJC didn't have any openings. Luckily for Tracey, Jenn was afraid of her, so the interview was eventually granted. Appropriately enough it took place at a bar, over a beer and Tracey was hired immediately.

Shannon Oswald comes to us with experience in Human Resources. She has since gained certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), and as a Certified Employee Compensation Professional (CCP). If you have any HR-related topics to discuss, Shannon has probably already learned about it, heard about it, or done it before. If she hasn't, odds are good she knows someone who has.

She has been known to play a pretty mean game of tennis, drive a nice shot off the tee, and has never failed to throw out the runner attempting to steal second base during a fast-pitch softball game. She's originally from Pennsylvania, but now resides in Southern California with her family and various adopted rescue animals.

Outside of her quest for HR excellence, Shannon is also and avid reader and monster movie-watcher (her pets are mostly named after vampires). Let her know if you come across an author worth reading or chiller flick worth watching - she's always on the lookout for something new.
